Are you a sporty person or do you want to get back into sport? Then try out these amazing and different (unusual) sports! Memberships and joining fees were never our thing, so here are some commitment-free, affordable sports that are easy for everyone to access.
Outdoor fitness for only €5 / session
This new concept is just amazing! A one hour session in one of the many parks in and around Toulouse. The lessons vary from Bootcamp sessions, circle training to Pilates. The great thing is that every session is in a different location. So whether you live in the city centre, Labège, Blagnac, St. Cyprien, Compans or elsewhere, we are sure you will find the best location for you. The newest session: Urbain training, which uses the surroundings like exercise equipment (e.g. stairs, benches, etc.) starts right from the centre of Toulouse at Place du Capitole. I have tried the sessions and I really liked the enthusiasm and good mood of the coaches. You will probably see me there one day! All info here.
Gym suédoise
Gym suédoise offer aerobics that are accessible to everyone. The website offers different classes all around Toulouse, mainly in public buildings like school gyms. The levels of difficulty vary from soft to standard, cardio flex to core, so this is really for everyone. We have a friend who tried it and absolutely loves it. The cost of a single session is between€7-10, however you can sign up for multiple sessions at a reduced cost.
Hyperactive Studios
Hyperactive Studios is run by Mari-Louise, a very enthusiastic professional South African Dancer, Choreographer and Aerial artist. So guess what, classes are all in English. This studio offers several Pilates and a lot of different aerial classes.
Dharamsal Yoga
This centre offers a variety of classes: Pilates, Prénatal and Postnatal yoga, Meditation as well as Kundalini Yoga classes. Every Friday from 12:15pm to 1:30pm, there is a Kundalini Yoga class in English.

Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture (MJC)
There are several MJC in and around Toulouse. They offer a variety of activities (Pilates, Yoga, dance classes, Zumba, etc.). Membership is usually for one year but prices are very reasonable.

Running
There are different options to join running sessions in Toulouse – these are the one’s we know of:
- Association Run in Toulouse: runs every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm from Place du Capitole (different levels). ). To access the runs, you need to be member of the association (€40/year), however this joining fee also includes insurance “responsabilité civile” de Run in Toulouse.
- Décathlon Hippodrome 40min running sessions (free): they start at 9.45am on Saturday morning and last for about 45min. The difficulty of the run is adapted to the running level of the attendees
- Parkrun de la Ramée: Weekly running session of 5km at 9am every Saturday – run around the lake at your own pace, but your speed is measured. So if you like to measure your runs on a regular basis and still run in a group, this is a great way to do so.

Trampoline Park Let’s Fit
Every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30pm with Philippe. One course costs €12, 10 cost €80 (valid for 4 months) or 100€ (unlimited use). This is a great way of getting a full body work out in a fun environment.

Bouldering
Solo Escalade in Minimes is a great place for Bouldering. The hall is huge and they change the bouldering walls all the time! The place also offers a gym and hammam, a library area and great organic snacks and drinks.

Swimming Pools
Toulouse has swimming pools all over the city. However, if you like to swim in an olympic sized pool, then there is not much choice: Léo Lagrange, close to the central station.
Don’t forget your swimming cap and speedos! France is pretty strict on dress code to access a swimming pool.
