Toulouse is also a great city to be living in when you are pregnant. There are a lot of courses and activities for moms to be. Here are some of the things I did when I was on maternity leave.
Aqua Fitness
Candy’s aquagym classes are really amazing. I always had a lot of fun! The good thing is, that you can go to her classes until the very end of your pregnancy. The movements and exercises in the water are very beneficial for both body and mind.
Yoga
There are a lot of prenatal yoga classes in Toulouse. I tried Mouna Yoga in Saint Cyprien and Sattva Yoga close to Compans Caffarelli. Both were really good!
Massage
If you are looking for a nice massage to release tensions and relax completely, check out Mademoiselle Relax (Jeanne d’Arc or Carmes). They have a special massage for future moms. You will feel so good afterwards!
Osteopathy
Osteopathy can help to relieve or prevent symptoms related to the changes in size and weight. Usually, there are three visits during pregnancy (every three months), which normally aren’t covered by the Assurance Maladie. But check with your mutuelle or private insurance!
If you are looking for a osteopath I can recommend Nicolas and Romain, they are great! And they have an online booking system that allows you to book sessions from 7am to 8pm in the evening!
Sophrology
This is a relaxation technique which can be very helpful for the birth. Unfortunately, I learned about this method very late and I only had the chance to attend one session during my pregnancy. That is why I do not have a specific recommendation for you, but I am sure it will be easy to find someone.
Baby Wearing
Celine’s classes are really nice. She is very patient and you learn how to tie a baby wrap very fast. We attended one group class when I was around seven months pregnant. Several days after giving birth we booked a private session at home so that we could make sure that we do everything the way it’s supposed to be. Celine does not only show you different ways of wearing a baby but also gives you many helpful tips on parenting.
Breastfeeding
If you plan to nurse your baby, it can be helpful to get some information and exchange with other mothers.
Sarrus Teinturiers
Give them a call to learn when the next meeting is and to sign up!
La Leche League France
La Leche League is an international organisation dedicated to providing support, encouragement, information, and education to women who want to breastfeed. There are regular meetups in Toulouse; look on their website for the exact dates.
A chacun son chemin
Once a month Virginie Lespignal organises a meetup for both future and nursing moms in order to exchange and support each other.
SOS Allaitement
Once per month on a saturday SOS Allaitement offers a free meeting for future moms and nursing moms.
Les ateliers maternité de la CPAM
Did you know that the CPAM organises regular meetings for future parents in order to get more information on the follow-up of the pregnancy and all necessary administrative procedures? Here you can find more information.
